I finally figured out how to connect my mobile (S55) to my computer. The Siemens Software still refuses to connect me but I can access the virtual folder "Mobile" via the Workplace.
So my mobile is a 'semantic jukebox' now.
'Known' people ring with 'Star Trek' (association: "mission").
Family rings with 'Addams Family'
'Friends' ring with 'Bonanza' (association: solidarity)
'Office', which I use as a synonym for 'Organization' rings with 'Twin Peaks' (association: FBI) - those are often numbers that I call, not people who call me.
'VIP' rings with 'Impossible Mission' (this should be rare ;) )
'Leisure time' rings with 'Bright side of life' (I am not sure I have ppl. on my phone that I associate with that and who are not 'friends'.)
'Private' rings with 'Casablaca'. (association: love, closeness)
'Business' (i.e. customers) ring with the melody of 'Dallas'.
'Received' (i.e. transferred from Palm via IR) ring with 'Let it be' (association: virgin reception, Mother Mary), actually this category should also be empty.
'Unknown' people ring with 'Bright Side of Life', as it starts out not so loudly ;)

Now I only need to categorize people ;-)

Maybe I should rename this to rant-blog.

What kinda day is this.

First a guy who is selling me a flash on Ebay tells me he has no 'invoice' forms and is just a private person, so he cannot send me a bill. Hey, a bill is just a piece of paper saying: "Pay me!" As soon as you are 16 or 18 you can write bills. No form required. Not even a signature. Just a piece of paper and something to make it dirty... (OK, in german after June or JUly you also need to number your bills "sequentially" and "uniquely". Nobody agrees on what exactly that means.)

Then the boss of an educational facility I work for tells me, she does not open e-mails any more, cause she is flooded by them. I hinted at the fact that she will not solve the problem by not opening them.
OK, I noted down her fax-number.

Ich recherchiere gerade zu http://www.assoziations-blaster.de/bahn/. Den Zuständigen bei der Bahn (der die Antwort des Blaster noch nicht kannte, obwohl sie das halbe Netz kennt) hatte ich schon an der Strippe. Er macht sich jetzt schlau ;)

Dass sich Websites im Speziellen und Rechner im Allgemeinen immer Freitags nachmittags zerschießen, ist ja bekannt. Aber ob es klug ist, eine Behebung des Problems noch am selben Tag oder am Samstag anzukündigen... ist was anderes.
Beruhigend ist es auf jeden Fall, wenn man selbst mit der Technik nix zu tun hat und am Crash mehr als unschuldig ist. Irritierend ist es weiterhin, dass alle Vorurteile, die man aus der Ferne über Frontpage hatte, sich bestätigen.

Mit Freunden zu arbeiten ist ja immer ein Risiko und W. hatte ich ziemlich aus den Augen verloren. Oder besser: Er hat in den letzen 20 Jahren, seit ich ihn kenne, immer nur am Rande das Gesichtsfeld gestreift.
Ich hatte ohnehin vor ihn mit einem 'Privatprojekt' mal anzusprechen: Ideen für Kinderbücher, denn W. zeichnet gut und gerne und ist u.a. ausgebildeter Animationszeichner.
Und jetzt sind wir zusammen in einem Kundenprojekt und es läuft schon prima.
Es ist einfach recht entspanned, wenn man auch mal verschiedener Meinung sein kann und sich zusammenrauft, ohne dass der andere den Eindruck hat, es würden Machtspielchen gespielt.
Nach dem Briefing mit dem Kunden haben wir uns dann sofort zusammengesetzt und sind schon recht weit gekommen: Ein paar der größten Hürden für ein kleines Werbe-Bilderbuch sind genommen. (Rhyme unintended.)
